We went camping on Whidbey Island this weekend, and I had this ridiculously gorgeous place to explore and log my last 20 mile run before the race which is now less than 3 weeks away.
I love that when I got out of the tent Saturday morning to lace up my running shoes that this text was waiting to greet me:
lacing up my shoes with you in mind!
While I ran and prayed for you two, the word that kept coming to mind was "STRENGTH" so I just asked God to give you strength in the steps ahead.
Also, two songs came to mind as well that I tried to go over the lyrics in my mind
and let the words wash over you as I held you in prayer.
Song #1
I lift my eyes up unto the mountains
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from You, maker of Heaven
Creator of the earth
I lift my eyes up unto the mountains
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from You, maker of Heaven
Creator of the earth
Oh how I need You Lord, You are my only hope
You are my only friend
So I will wait for You to come and rescue me
To come and give me life, give me life
I lift my eyes up unto the mountains
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from You, maker of Heaven
Creator of the earth
Oh, how I need You Lord, You are my only hope
You are my only friend
So I will wait for You to come and rescue me
To come and give me life
Oh, how I need You Lord, You are my only hope
You are my only friend
So I will wait for You to come and rescue me
To come and give me life
You are my only hope
You are my only friend
I will wait for You
Come and rescue me
Come and give me life
I will wait for You
To come and rescue me
Come and give me life
Song #2
"Blackbird"
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
the trail stretched out before me Saturday morning
vibrant greens...
bright blues....
fields of gold...
dappled sunshine...
darkness to light...
doe a deer...
hope for the flowers...
I ran past this trail and had to stop to take this picture :)
These other trail names cracked me up too...
(and I figure you feel like you've taken a few of these at some point lately!)
Whipper Snapper
Escape
(yes, please!)
I saw this when I had one mile to go and really was ready to be done!
lots o' miles this week...
beach finish and an ice bath in the freezing ocean
the Olympic mountains showing off in the distance
all smiles...
