Rhythms

Now that I have been in training for about a month, I'm into a bit of a rhythm.
Monday- rest
Tuesday- mid-distance run
Wednesday- shorter run
Thursday- speed workout/ mid-distance run
Friday- rest
Saturday- shorter run
Sunday- long run for the week

This will vary a bit through the training, but in general, I can count on a couple of days off each week, a long run on the weekend, etc.

As I thought about this today, I prayed for the rhythms of your lives. There's not much you can count on right now since so much is in flux.  Packing, moving, wondering what is going to happen in the classroom with the hiring situation, trying to find time together that is not all about the packing and moving, going to the hospital, filling out paperwork, researching online, answering emails, texts & phone calls, posting to the blog and to Facebook to keep folks in the loop, managing breathing treatments, and trying to get a few hours of sleep in the mix.....
(and I'm sure I just scratching the surface here...)

This verse came to mind as I was thinking about rhythm...

“Are you tired? Worn out? ...... Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”  Matthew 11:28-30

and this helped me to put into words my prayer for you today:
that you would be able to find your rhythm
and catch your stride
as you learn the unforced rhythms of grace
as the days unfold...
