In my dreams I am a Kenyan

In the Knoxville marathon, I wore a shirt that said "In my dreams I am a Kenyan..."

I wore it as it has a double meaning for me.
I first saw the phrase at a running expo, and the implication is that
in my dreams I am a really really really fast runner.
But the other part of it for me is that I have a love affair with the country of Kenya
and have been so shaped by the friendships I have there.
These are people who have a beautiful faith, a real hope, and an unquenchable spirit of joy.

For this reason, I also have this sticker on my car and
it's fun to have conversations with folks about why...

The other day, I had a car honk at me and wave as they went by.  It was such fun because as they rolled down their window,  it was clear by their smiles that they were indeed from Kenya.  They pointed to my bumper sticker and they gave me thumbs up.
Their joy seemed to just to stream from their car.

praying for surprises of joy for you two today....
(even if it comes from something as silly as a bumper sticker on your car.)
