Abby and Jens,
I was supposed to run an easy 5 miles today according to my workout schedule and I chose to run from Anna's dance studio while she was in class this afternoon to give me some different scenery. As I started running, I realized that the beloved Fremont Troll was not too far so I hit the trail to greet him. Every time I see this sculpture under Highway 99 here in Seattle, I cannot help but smile.
So, today it was an obvious invitation to pray for you all that you would have joy in the journey. You have a long road ahead, and so I prayed specifically for you to be surprised by joy along the way. Today I felt the nudge to ask God to open your eyes so that you would see the gifts around. With some of the pains you will have to face coming down the pike, it will be easy to miss some of them. Help each other stay alert and point out the small beauties you each are able to see from your own unique vantage points.
selfie picture with my favorite troll - taken just for you... :)
I love that we have a Troll Avenue here in Seattle
and yes, someone put up three billy goat figures
because they are under the bridge near the troll... so very clever...
And then I sauntered down to the Burke Gilman trail right near the giant dinosaurs for all to see
how can you not smile when you run by a giant dinosaur topiary
favorite signs of spring
I knew I had scored when I ran by our favorite chocolate shop in town and saw that they were still open... (they have free samples in their factory tour so I had a few bites for fun..)
I have never gone on a run and also gone chocolate tasting... there is always a first!
(hilarious to me as these two hobbies usually do not go hand in hand, but I may have found my new favorite destination run)
a hipster bike shop's way to get you to come check out their gear...
and yes, Seattle has a statue of Lenin... why not?
cherry blossoms bringing in some spring color
Easter hope is on its way...
and I loved running by this.... a door still decorated as a Christmas gift. Why not?
a simple reminder indeed that today is a gift.
cool restaurant I ran by at the end that begged for me to take a picture
eternal spring mosaic
cascading onto the sidewalk...
so much joy was found today that was completely unexpected...
praying that this will be your story along the way too.
